THE POSITION:  Mechanical Street Sweeper

Fairfield City Council’s Waste & Cleansing, department is currently looking for a hard-working individual to operate Mechanical Street Sweeper.

The Mechanical Street Sweeper Operator plays a vital role in delivering Fairfield City Council’s Street sweeping program. When sweeping operations are not active, you will contribute to other tasks, including CBD cleaning.

  • Operate and maintain street sweeping equipment to high standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and practices.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Current Class HR driver’s licence
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for completing necessary paperwork
  • Knowledge and practical application of WHS principles and Work Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ability and preparedness to work flexibly across any collection services in a team based in a customer-focussed environment.
  • Must be available to work on Public Holidays and weekends when required.
  • Demonstrated a good attendance record Roads & Maritime online record.

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position, 76 hours per fortnight
  • This position is a Grade B, salary range is $58,484p.a. $64,527on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $68,468 p.a. Plus Super and Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award. The shift is 12.00am until 8.06am Monday to Friday
  • A Uniform is provided
