This is your opportunity to work within an award winning swim school, local government, staff receive ongoing training, support, opportunity to work at three centres working within a structured program. Weekend penalty rates apply within FCC and the opportunity to be trained in all aspects within the swim academy.

2x Permanent Full Time (38 hours per week)

1x Permanent Part Time (25 hours per week)

THE POSITION: 

The Fairfield City Swim Academy is seeking a self-motivated and proactive individual to join its innovative team in the position of Learn to Swim Instructor. Swim Instructors are required to work at Prairiewood, Fairfield and Cabravale Leisure Centres.

The position provides the opportunity for the incumbent to work within all aspects of the swim academy this unique position offers the flexibility of teaching and administration on a weekly basis. Instructor permanent position responsibilities are general administration duties, supervision and instruction of varying levels of swimming and programs including Learn to swim, schools and squads, liaison with customers/participants within all Swim Academy programs.

You will be required to display and maintain a high standard of professional application towards the position.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Current Teacher of Water Safety certificate from one of the following organisations Austswim Royal Life Saving, Swim Australia
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • When applying for the position it is necessary to describe the level of knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience required for the position.

DESIRABLE:

  • Drivers Licence;
  • First Aid Certificate;
  • Additional certificates from one of the following organisations Austswim, Royal Life Saving, Swim Australia (eg. Infants aquatics, Access and Inclusion, Competitive Strokes)
  • Experience in similar Aquatic or Leisure centre environment.
  • Describe additional knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience that would be beneficial to the position.

SALARY/ EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Fulltime position 38hrs per week (job share maybe considered).
  • The permanent fulltime and parttime positions is rated pay point entry level of grade one.
  • The commencing salary for the fulltime position is $57,905 and parttime 25hrs position is $38,095 with a progression available upon demonstrated competencies, plus 11.5% super.
  • Weekend penalty rates apply
  • Uniform provided
  • Hours of Work: between 7am to 10pm Monday to Sunday. However, commencing and finishing times will be flexible and will depend on operational needs.
