2024.089 – Speech Pathologist

THE POSITION: We are seeking to employ enthusiastic Speech Pathologists to join our friendly, supportive multidisciplinary therapy team. The successful therapists will be based at our modern Greenfield Park early intervention centre. These positions require applicants to deliver individual and group sessions to preschool and primary school-aged children with mild, moderate, and severe developmental delay and/or disabilities. Comprehensive staff induction and training, regular clinical supervision, peer support, and professional development opportunities are provided, as is access to the extensive clinical resource collection.

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: The positions are Grade 5, salary range from $83,963 p.a. (plus superannuation), with progression to $92,679 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with possible performance progression to $98,354 p.a. (plus superannuation). A generous car allowance may also be payable in addition to salary. Part-time applications will be considered. Applicants who require flexible working arrangements are encouraged to apply. The Positions:

  • 1 x Speech Pathologist (Temporary) - full-time 35 hours per week
  • 1 x Speech Pathologist (Maternity Leave) – full-time 35 hours per week

ESSENTIAL:

  • A genuine interest in the Fairfield community’s vision, priorities, and goals, including improving the well-being of children and families and making the Fairfield Local Government Area a better place to live
  • Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia as a Certified Practicing Member, Medicare provider number desirable
  • Current working with children check, police check, and driver’s licence, prepared to undertake NDIS worker check if not already undertaken
  • Experience managing a caseload of clients from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, completing all required documentation and administration tasks efficiently and within expected timeframes
  • Experience in administering and interpreting appropriate formal and informal assessments and developing family-centred goals and support plans for clients
  • Experience implementing engaging and effective interventions across a diverse range of disorders, using evidence-based and enjoyable therapy techniques
  • Experience working collaboratively with other early intervention and allied health professionals
  • A growth mindset, with a commitment to ongoing learning

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience applying for assistive technology through the NDIS
  • Experience providing intervention through a variety of models including Telehealth
  • Experience supporting clients with referrals to external agencies
  • Relevant community language
  • Current first aid certificate
  • Experience using AAC communication systems
  • Understanding of positive behaviour supports
