Save the date: Cabramatta Moon Festival
Published on 31 August 2023
Save the date for the iconic Cabramatta Moon Festival – Council’s longest-running and largest community festival returning to the town centre on Sunday 17 September 2023.
For 25 years the Cabramatta Moon Festival has brought together people from all over Sydney to celebrate our City’s wonderful diversity, and I invite you and your family to come along and join the celebrations.
Festivities will kick off at 11am with lion dancing and taiko drumming, followed by cultural performances, cooking demonstrations, live entertainment into the night, and activities appealing to all ages and interests.
Queen tribute show ‘Queen Forever’ will headline the event, performing popular hits like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘We Will Rock You’ against a lantern-illuminated night sky, plus MasterChef Australia’s Khanh Ong will hit the cooking stage showcasing traditional Vietnamese fare with a modern twist.
Crowd-favourite activities will return – including the children’s chopstick challenge, and the pho and mooncake eating competitions, together with food and market stalls, rides, games and the popular lantern parade led by Khanh Ong, the moon goddess and archer.
Not only does the Cabramatta Moon Festival bring families together, it’s a real boost for our local businesses, and attracts tourism while showcasing what makes our City a great destination to visit.
I guarantee there will be something for everyone at the event, and I look forward to sharing our City’s incredible Southeast Asian culture, colour and energy with you.
