More rides and more fun coming to Aquatopia

One of my priorities as Mayor is to give opportunities to get together and be healthy and active.

That’s why I am excited to be reopening the highly successful Aquatopia next month (it had 40,000 visitors last year). It will be even better this year with improved cabanas and two new exciting rides, the Fishpipe and Stingray Surf Ride.

The Fishpipe is an amazing and unique 90-second ride. It is a rotating water barrel ride and feels like being on a mile long water slide and in a washing machine at the same time.

Riders are zippered inside a ball, water is pumped in and the Fishpipe begins spinning while thrilled riders slide and tumble around in the bottom. Mum, dad and the kids will all be able to have a go.

As well as the Fishpipe, the Stingray Surf Ride is also due to open in the coming season. The Stingray Surf Ride gives a surfing experience without the need to travel long distances to the beach.

This is an investment in families that continues to build Aquatopia into one of South West Sydney’s best attractions for affordable family fun.

Council has also upgraded the cabanas, which now have blinds for better protection from the sun and the wind. They also have a small fridge to keep items cool. Cabanas can be reserved for a very affordable price.

With the Stingray Surf Ride and Fishpipe, there will be no better place in Sydney for residents of all ages to cool down and spend quality time with their families.
