Council is committed to providing quality facilities that are affordable to use and allow residents to stay fit and healthy.
Our leisure centres provide residents of all ages and abilities a wide variety of fun events and fantastic programs to increase health and wellbeing.
They have become community meeting places where families and friends can be fit and healthy together. More than 1.1 million visitors last financial year used the pools, gyms, group fitness and personal training sessions available at Cabramatta, Fairfield and Prairiewood Leisure Centres.
Aquatopia at Prairiewood, with its slides, Wave Rider, and the soon-to-be completed fast racing slides and Fishpipe ride, give thrill seekers an added incentive to get out and get active. More than 60,000 visitors visited Aquatopia last summer.
Fairfield City Leisure Centres offer many fitness opportunities, including:
- Free pool entry for Fairfield City locals with a disability and seniors on specific days and times
- Gyms that can be used independently or you can take advantage of the tailored programs and personal training options for seniors, young people and gym beginners
- Group fitness options include Body combat, Box and Burn, weight loss, pilates, yoga, zumba and lots more
- Nearby tennis courts and squash court at Fairfield Leisure Centre
- Fairfield City Community Youth Centre, which is free on the first Sunday of each month, for indoor rock climbing, trampolines and sport courts for basketball, soccer, netball and badminton
- School holiday programs
- Fitness Boot Camps at the Fairfield Park Obstacle Course
- Learn to Swim classes for all ages, including adults
Also this Saturday at Prairiewood Leisure Centre we are raising much needed funds for our farmers. There will be lots of fun activities from 11am-3pm for just a $10 donation per person (free for those aged under 5 years). Come along with the family, have fun and get fit together.
