Living Cultures Festival this Saturday

Fairfield City is one of the most multicultural places in Australia with more than 50% of us born overseas. More than 120 languages are spoken here. Council and I proudly celebrate our diversity throughout the year.

This weekend we have a showcase cultural event. The popular Living Cultures Festival returns to Fairfield City Museum & Gallery this Saturday.

The colourful festival promotes respect and harmony within the community, while celebrating the differences that make Fairfield City a unique place to live.

I encourage you to come and see this free, family friendly event.

The festivities will start with a traditional Smoking Ceremony, followed by an exciting line-up of performances that include Peruvian, Chilean and Macedonian traditional dancing, as well as folk music from Malta, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt.

There will also be arts and crafts, face painting, balloon twisting, a BBQ, treats, community stalls and much more, ensuring people of all ages can join in on the fun.

Our City is built on the back of cultural diversity, with people from across the world bringing their own unique identities to share.

Come along to Living Cultures Festival this Saturday, 17 March, 11am-2pm. Experience some of the wonderful cultures we have in Fairfield City which make it such a unique place to live, work and play.
