I have always been passionate about ensuring our community has access to outstanding public facilities and opportunities for employment as our City continues to grow.

Fairfield City was built for generations past and we need to rejuvenate our town centres to make them more liveable for generations to come, with more housing and job opportunities.

Council's draft urban design studies for Fairfield City Centre and Fairfield Heights and Villawood town centres outline how Council can better integrate housing and infrastructure as our City grows.

Now is the time to plan for the future of our town centres.

Council wants to ensure more affordable housing is available for the community, along with better public amenities, open spaces and pedestrian connections, more parking and roadway improvements.

This is all proposed in the draft urban design studies as a way of enhancing our local economy and providing greater access to existing public transport, while also ensuring our town centres become even more attractive and vibrant places to live, work and play.

This is our City and we want to know what you think.

Council will host an information session at our Administration Building in Wakeley next Tuesday 14 November between 4.30pm and 9pm. Council staff will also hold community consultations on Thursday 16 November from 9.30am until 6pm in Fairfield Heights and Villawood town centres and 9.30am-6pm at Fairfield Library in Fairfield City Centre.

Visit www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/news to find out how you can have your say on the urban design studies for Fairfield Heights and Villawood town centres before 29 November 2017 and the urban design study for Fairfield City Centre before 17 January 2018.
