We believe Fairfield City is one of the best recreational precincts in South Western Sydney and we are always looking at ways to help residents be healthy, fit and active.
That’s why we’ve introduced FREE evening Zumba classes every Wednesday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, through the cooler months. Due to the success of the classes, we have relocated the Zumba classes to Wetherill Park Community Centre, located at Stockland Wetherill Park, next to Wetherill Park Library.
Zumba is a dance-based aerobic exercise class that is suitable for everyone, offering a range of benefits including improving fitness, body composition and balance. These evening classes will ensure that working mums can participate in a Council initiative that is about having fun and keeping fit during the winter months.
We also offer Council’s FREE 7-week fitness program, Gyms in Parks during school terms. Term 2 kicks off on Monday 13 May 2024 and finishes on Thursday 27 June at Fairfield Heights Park and Bareena Park. For more information and to book, visit fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/events.
It’s the 25th year of National Walk Safely to School Day during National Road Safety Week. Tomorrow, 10 May, we encourage you to walk your children to school and have conversations about road safety, focusing on the key road safety messages.
This is a great way to incorporate physical activity in a daily routine to support healthy development and educate children about avoiding dangers when on their way to school.
So whether you want to walk, dance or build some muscles, there’s something for everyone and even better, it’s FREE!
