I invite you to once again take up the opportunity to dispose of your unwanted bulky household items for free during Council’s Spring Clean Drop-off Day.

The 2017 Spring Clean will be held at Fairfield Showground on Sunday 22 October from 7am to 2pm.

This initiative has been put in place to help you remove old and unused bulky waste items around your home, free of charge.

I encourage you to load up your boot or trailer with items such as household furniture, small kitchen appliances and general garden waste and leave them at Fairfield Showground.

Last year residents dropped off more than 39 tonnes of bulky waste, which helped to reduce litter and dumped rubbish on our streets.

This free service is a Council initiative to help keep our City clean and is in addition to the twice-yearly kerbside collection, Recycling Centre service, our recent chemical drop-off day and the upcoming extra recycling service during the Christmas period.

I encourage you as a member of our community to do your bit to help keep our City clean and to take advantage of this additional means of disposing of unwanted waste for free.

A pamphlet will be in your letterboxes soon with information about the Spring Clean Drop-off Day. You can also visit www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/wasteandrecycling for more details or contact us on 9725 0222.
