We all know women who have achieved great things in their chosen field, and Council wants to recognise these women for their hard work. Now is your opportunity to nominate them for the Fairfield City Women’s Day Award.

Earlier this year, we held our inaugural Fairfield City Women’s Day Award to recognise women for their professional achievements. This was a wonderful event, with many amazing local women nominated. Entrepreneur Le Ho was named the winner, for her work in turning waste management company Capital City Waste Services into a successful business. She also works with local community groups to empower those from disadvantaged backgrounds to build their own successes.

Le Ho serves as an inspiration to many, women and men alike.

Next year the award will be held again, acknowledging women for their inspirational leadership and as a role model for other women. They will be recognised as leaders in business, as an entrepreneur or for accomplished careers in the private or public sectors.

The award will be presented in March 2020, to coincide with International Women’s Day.

I encourage everyone to think about local women you can nominate to recognise their professional achievements. They could be a business entrepreneur, principal, medical professional, scientist or a leader in social or business change.

I’m sure we all know someone we could nominate for this award that recognises local women’s achievements and establishes them as an inspiration and a role model for young women in our City.

Nominations for the 2020 Fairfield City Women’s Day Award are now open. For more information or to nominate visit www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/womensdayaward.
