Council amalgamations proposed

In coming weeks, residents will receive information about a proposal by the State Government to amalgamate (join) Fairfield and Liverpool councils.

Fairfield City Council's preliminary findings suggest an amalgamation will not benefit residents.

It is my personal view that any plans to amalgamate two cities – already two of the biggest in NSW – should be decided by the people, not solely by politicians or governments.

The final decision will be made by the State Government.

Council feels it's important for residents to be aware of the proposal.

We want to hear your views about the City's future.

Council will use the community consultation results as part of our submission to the State Government.

Blessing for Dutton Lane development

The Dutton Lane (Cabramatta) development officially started on Saturday 21 February with a multi-faith blessing.

The multi-lingual blessing was for site safety and prosperity for the community.

The blessing was attended by the Australian Chinese Buddhist Society, Cabramatta Baptist Church, councillors and local MPs.

The rainy day was considered another good sign, because it brings great fortune in this New Year.
