Community donations to local hospitals

As someone who was proudly born in the old Fairfield Hospital, I know the importance of having a good local hospital available to the community.

This is why I have  been an advocate for improvements to Fairfield Hospital.

I was proud recently to be a part of the cheque presentations at Fairfield City Council with a number of community groups and representatives from both Fairfield and Braeside hospitals, to acknowledge that more than $220,000 has been raised towards improvements to our local hospitals.

I would like to also acknowledge the Vietnamese community, who raised about $80,000 for Fairfield Hospital.

We're hoping that there will be some good news soon on funding to Fairfield Hospital, particularly for the Emergency Department.

However, I feel that the community should continue to get behind our local hospitals that do so much to look after our health.
