How can I do business with Fairfield City Council?
Organisations, suitable experienced and qualified, are encouraged to submit their proposal through either eProcure, quotation and/or EOI process.
What is Tendering and Expression of Interest process?
Tendering and EOI is the selling of goods and services to Council through the request of formal bids – otherwise known as tenders.
Where do I find these invitations?
All council invitations will be available through an electronic tendering facility provided by eProcure. Organisations may register their company details, download documents, and lodge submissions online free of charge.
Alternatively, advertisements relating to current public tenders, EOIs and certain quotations may also be published in the local government section of the Sydney Morning Herald on Tuesday and in the council’s corporate page within the Fairfield City Champion newspaper. Please refer to Council’s Statement of Business Ethics(PDF, 35KB). Also available in Arabic(PDF, 125KB), Chinese(PDF, 317KB) and Vietnamese
(PDF, 136KB)
Do I need an Australian Business Number (ABN)?
All individuals and organisations lodging tenders/quotations/EOI submissions with Council for the provision of the supply of materials, equipment and/or services must have an ABN and be registered for Goods and Services Tax (GST). All submissions must clearly state your company's ABN. You can apply online for an ABN.
Can I lobby Councillors and staff?
It is not permitted and may result in disqualification from the tender process.
What is Best Value?
Best Value for money is when the submission satisfies all the essential criteria, specifications, safety, environmental and statutory requirements stated in the tender document. Lowest price does not necessarily mean best value.
Is there an opportunity to negotiate the contract if I am awarded the tender?
After the offer from Council is accepted, there is no opportunity to negotiate the contract. Alternative or variations to the terms must be submitted in full as part of your tender submission provided you have submitted a conforming tender as well.
