THE POSITION: Fairfield City Council is seeking an ambitious professional with sound knowledge of compliance related strategies to join our Building Control and Compliance team to assist in the delivery of building surveying, building compliance and fire related services within our community

This position will suit a professional who wants to contribute and influence the future direction of Council in the areas of public safety and building compliance.

This position undertakes a principal role regarding private swimming pool safety and building compliance.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Experience in all facets of building surveying with appropriate tertiary qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding in the field of compliance including building regulations, fire safety and swimming pool legislation.
  • Communication, organisation, and IT skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and to balance competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience inspecting private swimming pools

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position, 70 hours per fortnight
  • This position is a Grade 6, salary range on demonstrated competencies is $89,415 p.a. to $104,738  p.a (not inclusive of super).
  • Employee benefits include 11% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, onsite gym, free onsite parking and opportunity to participate in Council’s flextime arrangement
