Women's Day Award winner

It gives me great pleasure to let you know that the winner of the first ever 2019 Fairfield City Women's Day Award is Le Ho.

The Award is designed to recognise local women as leaders in business, as entrepreneurs or for their accomplished careers in the private or public sectors. The award is also designed to establish the winners as an inspiration for others.

Nominations received were of extremely high quality and showcased the remarkable women we have living in our City achieving amazing things. All nominees should be congratulated for their achievements.

Internationally recognised as one of Australia's leading female entrepreneurs, Le Ho took over a struggling business Capital City Waste Services (CCWS) from the brink of liquidation to a record $10 million turnover, testament to her unwavering commitment and hard work.

From humble beginnings, Le now exemplifies excellent entrepreneurship - providing incredible inspiration to the women in Fairfield. In addition to her celebrated accomplishments, she is always working to bring more opportunities and acclaim to Western Sydney in the projects she pioneers.

Today, Le sits on the Board of Directors of Western Sydney University - The College. She is working with the University to develop Australia's first industry endorsed Waste Management course to be delivered by a university.

Working with local community groups, Le also strives to empower those from disadvantaged backgrounds to build their own successes. In particular, Le has worked closely with the Blue Dragon Children's Foundation, an Australian organisation that aims to rescue Vietnam's poorest children from poverty.
