Winter is upon us and while the days are shorter, the weather colder and the meals heartier, Fairfield City still has plenty of recreational pursuits for both young and old to warm up and keep fit, active and healthy.

I encourage you to grab the kids and head down to Fairfield Adventure Park in Vine Street, Fairfield, which is sure to keep the young ones entertained and active for hours. Fitness lovers will enjoy the Obstacle Course and treetop walk. The course has more than a dozen elements designed to challenge fitness, strength, balance and concentration.

We have more than 200 other parks spread across our leafy suburbs along with many walking paths and an extensive network of cycleways. Our Gyms in Parks program and outdoor fitness equipment are another way to keep fit with friends.
Our leisure centres offer gymnasiums and group fitness classes for all fitness levels and ages. You can also do a few laps in the indoor heated pools.

The Leisure Centres also offer programs for people of all ages and abilities.
Programs include the 12-week Better Body Challenge, group fitness or personal one-on-one training, the Gen Z fitness program tailored for 10 to 16 year olds and the challenging but fun Boot Camp at the Fairfield Park Obstacle Course.

You can also discover our unique arts and heritage at the Fairfield City Museum and Gallery. The museum offers visitors a rich variety of exhibitions, programs and events. Current exhibitions include Shanasheel featuring the works of ten Iraqi - Australian artists living and working in Western Sydney and Cabracadabra which explores the surprising colour and vibrancy of still-life paintings.

No matter where you're out and about throughout our City this winter, there's sure to be something to melt away the blues. I encourage you to stay fit and active but most of all enjoy the many experiences offered in our City.
