It was wonderful to see so many of the community coming together to celebrate the New Year.

A new year brings new hopes and new aspirations and I wish you all the best for the year ahead.

Now that summer and school holidays are in full swing, parents are looking for ways to keep their children entertained. I am proud that Council has many exciting activities and destinations for the whole family to enjoy together, while staying fit and active.

Aquatopia is the perfect place to keep cool and have fun with family and friends. It's open every day until 27 January, except for Christmas Day, from 10.30am to 5pm. Book ahead at www.fairfieldcityleisurecentres.com.au. There are even cabanas and barbecues to hire.

You can try out the exciting net climb, slides, flying fox and obstacle course at Fairfield Adventure Park, or rock climbing, basketball and trampolining at the nearby Fairfield Youth and Community Centre.

There is also parkour and futsal courts at Emerson Street Reserve, and table tennis and badminton at Cabravale Memorial Park, as well as dozens of playgrounds and hundreds of kilometres of cycling paths across our City.

School holiday craft will also be held at Fairfield City Museum & Gallery. These activities are very popular and bookings are recommended.

There are also free activities at our five City libraries, including Lego workshops, craft, a fun children's show, movies and a computer game tournament. You can also try your hand at sound and video recording at Studio 2166 at Whitlam Library. Visit www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/schoolholidays to find the full list of activities.
