Recognising community service

The strength of our City is its people, and each year I am honoured to present Australia Day Community Awards to remarkable people from our City.
Fairfield City Council takes great pride in acknowledging the generous contributions of our residents and their ongoing commitment to our unique and diverse community.
We would like to hear from you if you know of someone who you think deserves to win this prestigious award.
Nominations have now opened for the 2020 awards and I encourage you to nominate inspirational people from our City that you think deserve to be recognised.
We have many high achievers in our community who work tirelessly to make our City great, and inspire others to do the same. The Fairfield City Australia Day Community Awards are an opportunity to thank these amazing people for all they do with a prestigious award in one of four categories:
- Citizen of the Year (aged 25 and above)
- Young Citizen of the Year (aged 12-24)
- Sports Achiever of the Year (aged 12 and above)
- Volunteer of the Year (aged 12 and above).
The 2019 winners included Grigory Rogojkin who has volunteered for the State Emergency Service for more than 10 years, Angelique Cavanaugh for her dedicated work in youth, mental health and fundraising areas, Joe Farrugia for volunteer work with the Western Sydney Cycling Network and organising charity rides, and Daniel Harrison for his outstanding achievements in softball and community service.
