Residents of Edensor Park and surrounding suburbs will now find it easier to keep fit with the installation of a new walking path and outdoor gym equipment at Bosnjak Park.
Council invested $350,000 to build the path and equipment, which is designed so it can be used by people of all ages and ability. What a great way to spend some time with the family while keeping our minds and bodies healthy.
I encourage people of all ages to get active and healthy. Imagine taking a leisurely walk with your family early in the morning or just before the twilight, talking about the day ahead or past with your loved ones.
The health of residents in Fairfield City is important.
Healthy families are happy families. Maintaining good health allows us to do all the things we want with our families, in our careers and with our hobbies and passions.
Unfortunately, there are a significant number of people in Fairfield City who are overweight and many residents do not get the recommended amount of physical activity for good health.
We have extensive circuit walking paths and shared paths across the City. Some of the paths have helpful signs telling you how far you have to walk to burn off a chocolate bar or soft drink.
Fairfield City Council is doing its best to ensure you have plenty of opportunities to undertake free, fun and healthy activities at any time of the day.
Our vision is to have numerous, cost-effective fitness facilities evenly distributed across the City so that no matter where you live in our great City you will be able to easily access it.
