Join us at the Bareena and Fairfield Heights playground openings
Published on 03 August 2023
I’m excited to be opening the newest additions to our City’s super playground parks for families to enjoy together in the coming days.
This Saturday, 5 August, I will be opening our $3.4 million Bareena Park playground at 12.30pm. The water-themed playground has something for everyone. We have an iconic 8-metre-tall Koi fish rope climb and slide, an amazing meandering learn-to-ride circuit track with stop and give way signs, mini soccer pitches to kick a ball around and score goals, outdoor exercise equipment for older children and adults to keep fit, plus swings, carousels, rockers, seesaws and plenty of shade and picnic areas too.
The park is located at 2 Bareena Street, Canley Vale.
The following Saturday, 12 August, I will open the $3 million Fairfield Heights Park playground at 12.30pm. This park has its own unique features and is based on a nature theme with an unmissable climbing treehouse and slide centrepiece.
The park is full of accessible play equipment with an ever-popular flying fox, toddler and kids’ swings, a water play area to splash and keep cool as the weather grows warmer, learn-to-ride track, outdoor exercise equipment, plus shade and picnic areas.
The park is located at 90 Camden Street, Fairfield Heights.
The two new parks were made possible with joint funding from the NSW Government.
I invite you to come along to the openings, enjoy the new playgrounds and a free sausage sizzle.
We continue to make our City a fun and active City for families to get out and about together. Come join me and my Councillor colleagues at these openings to experience the play equipment for yourself and enjoy a sausage sandwich.
