I'm excited to announce popular children's entertainment group Hi-5 will join us at Council's family focussed New Year's Eve event, Illuminate.

Having Hi-5 to help us see in the New Year will bring plenty of excitement to the evening when the children's group bursts on to the stage singing and dancing to their popular songs.

I am looking forward to their high-energy performances, adding something special to the family friendly event and contributing to making it the best New Year's Eve celebration in Sydney.

This year Illuminate will have a circus theme, so get into the spirit and dress up for the event.

Families will enjoy free amusement rides, farm animals, stock whip demonstrations and other entertainment such as Shiho Sparkle Hooper, Mr Juggle, Jumpin' Kids and more. Children will also receive a free glow gift upon entry.

We'll again celebrate the New Year with an incredible fireworks display at Calmsley Hill and six other locations around the City at 9pm.

These fireworks are presented in partnership with six of our local clubs, making it the largest collective fireworks display in Southwest Sydney.

I invite all Fairfield City residents to come along and enjoy this fantastic event. Tickets for Illuminate go on sale on Monday 20 November via www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/illuminate. Council will charge a minimal cost of $3 to guarantee entry on the day, as tickets are limited. I encourage residents to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Illuminate is at Calmsley Hill City Farm, Abbotsbury, on 31 December from 4.30pm to 9.30pm.
