On Friday the doors of the new state-of the-art Fairfield Youth and Community Centre will open.

The $8.5 million Centre is one of the best purpose-built facilities in South West Sydney and features a rock climbing wall, three indoor trampolines, two multi-sport courts, outdoor half basketball court, program rooms and a chill out zone with arcade games and pool and air hockey tables.

Council will open the centre to the public from 3.30pm, so that you can see it for yourself. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a DJ, bubble soccer, rock climbing and access to the trampolines.

Fairfield Park is fast becoming the premier youth and community recreational precinct in South West Sydney. The Fairfield Adventure Park is hugely popular on the weekends with families enjoying BBQs, picnics and the great equipment. It will become more popular when daylight saving and summer starts.

The park will cater for adults with the boot camp-style obstacle course and tree top walk, to be constructed next year, giving residents the chance to improve their health and fitness and learn about the local native trees.

The Fairfield Park recreational precinct is just a 10 minute walk from Fairfield station and CBD and features:

  • 3,000m² Fairfield Youth and Community Centre
  • Fairfield Adventure Park
  • Fairfield Leisure Centre
  • Sporting fields
  • Tennis courts
  • Boot camp-style obstacle course – coming 2016
  • Tree top walk – coming 2016

I would like to invite the youth, local schools and the community to the Fairfield Youth and Community Centre opening on Friday 9 October from 3.30-6pm.

I look forward to seeing you at the opening of another great youth-inspired addition to Fairfield City.
