One of my key priorities since becoming Mayor has been to make Fairfield City a better place for families.

One year ago I was proud and pleased to see part of this commitment fulfilled when we opened an amazing new attraction for the families of South West Sydney, the Fairfield Adventure Park.

The opening of the Adventure Park was a great day for the community and signalled the launch of the Fairfield Park precinct, which now includes the Fairfield Youth and Community Centre. The centre is home to multi-purpose indoor courts, trampolines, indoor rock climbing wall and many more state-of-the-art facilities.

Fairfield Adventure Park has become a central meeting point for families from the wider South West Sydney community. It is packed on the weekends with families gathering for picnics and barbeques and enjoying a great day together.

Children of all ages are able to enjoy the signature piece climbing net, sky bridge and giant slides.

The park also includes a 33m long double flying fox and giant swing.

Council has also hosted a number of family friendly events at this amazing facility that brought the community together including my Easter egg hunt on Easter Saturday, the inaugural Grandparents Day and the very popular Children's Week event.

We will soon be introducing a new feature to the Adventure Park to help kids stay cool, particularly in the warmer months. A water mist cooling station will be installed in time for next summer for the enjoyment of families.

Fairfield Adventure Park is the centrepiece of the Fairfield Park recreation precinct, which also includes Fairfield Youth and Community Centre and Fairfield Leisure Centre.

It is only a 10-minute walk from Fairfield City Centre and Fairfield Station.
