Aquatopia reopens on Saturday 23 September and I am excited to announce that this year it will be bigger and better with added attractions.
About 40,000 people from all over Sydney visited Aquatopia last season, making it one of South West Sydney’s best attractions for affordable fun and boosting Fairfield City’s reputation as a family friendly city.
Aquatopia is set to make an even bigger splash with Council plans well underway for exciting new rides to increase the experience for visitors.
One of the new rides, the Fishpipe, will be constructed in the new year.
It is an amazing and unique 90-second ride. It’s a rotating water barrel ride inside a ball and feels like being on a mile long water slide and in a washing machine at the same time.
I encourage mums, dads and children to all have a go and enjoy the thrill of tumbling and spinning when the Fishpipe arrives later this season.
The Stingray Surf Rider is also due to open later this year.
The surf ride gives residents the surfing experience without the need to travel long distances to the beach.
We have improved the cabanas by adding blinds to better protect from the sun and installing small fridges for storing items such as birthday cakes.
With backyards getting smaller, Aquatopia is an investment in the local community that gives Fairfield City families an opportunity to get out and about, have fun, get active and be healthy.
We have also learned from last year and implemented an online ticketing service. This means families can avoid queues and ensure entry on their chosen day.
