How can I pay my rates? 

Rates and Charges notices are issued in July each year and are payable in four instalments:
31 August | 30 November | 28 February | 31 May

You can pay your rates by choosing any of the following options below.

Please note: if you want to pay outstanding rates or outstanding notices Section 603 and Section 735A Certificates can be requested online here.

Online

Online Payment 

Payment can be made with MasterCard or Visa.

Pay Online Now

Pay via CentreLink - Centrepay

Use Centrepay to make regular deductions from your Centrelink payment. Centrepay is a voluntary and easy payment option available to Centrelink customers. Go to servicesaustralia.gov.au/centrepay for more information on how to set up your Centrepay deductions.

Pay via BPay

Biller Code: 8912

Assessment Number: 6 digit number on your rate notice next to the BPay symbol.

Contact your bank or financial institution to make this payment from your Australian cheque or savings account.

By Phone

Pay by phone

Please call the 24 hour Credit Card line on 1300 769 725 to pay your rates with Visa or MasterCard. Have your rate notice assessment number ready to make your payment. 

Note: Payment via credit card will charge 0.75% processing fee.

In Person

Council's Customer Service Centre 

Bring your notice to 86 Avoca Road, Wakeley, between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding holidays). Payment can be made with cash, cheque, debit card (EFTPOS) or credit card (Visa and MasterCard). 

Australia Post 

Take your rate notice to any Australia Post outlet. Payment can be made with cash, cheque, or EFTPOS. 

Commonwealth Bank 

You do not need to have a bank account with Commonwealth Bank to process your payment. Bring your rate notice to any branch and pay with cash or cheque.

Libraries

You can pay in person at Fairfield Library, Bonnyrigg Library, Wetherill Park Library and Whitlam Library, but only via cheque, eftpos, money order & credit card. No cash accepted. To find the address and opening times of your closest eligible library please visit the library section of our website.

By Mail

Pay by Mail 

Fill in your credit card details on the bottom of your rates notice or send a cheque (with rates notice) to PO Box 21, Fairfield NSW 1860. If you do not require a receipt, return the deposit slip with your payment only. 

Register and receive your rates notice by email. Sign up to view your notices at your convenience, at any time.

Are you finding it difficult to pay your rates and charges on time? Our flexible Repayment Plan can help.

You are required to complete an application form and provide evidence to support the application process. Please read the Hardship Assistance Policy(PDF, 261KB) for more information on acceptable applicants.

Eligible pensioners and primary residents can receive up to $260 off ordinary rates. 

If you have a valid Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink, or a valid Pensioner Concession Card issued by the Department of Veteran's Affair, you may be entitled to a rebate.

Ratepayers experiencing genuine financial hardship paying their rates and charges are offered help through negotiated Repayment Plans. Help will be given only to residential ratepayers who use the subject property as their principal place of residence.

Ratepayers seeking assistance under the Hardship Assistance Policy will be required to complete an application form and provide evidence in support of their application.
