Fairfield City Council, in partnership with the Cat Protection Society of NSW, is pleased to announce the return of Operation Cat from Monday, 5 May, to Saturday, 24 May. This initiative aims to promote responsible pet ownership by offering affordable desexing and free microchipping services to eligible residents.

Program Details:

  • Desexing and Microchipping Services: For a fee of $30, cat owners will receive desexing services and FREE microchipping.
  • Convenient Pick-Up and Return: The Cat Protection Society will manage the pick-up and return of your cat, providing a hassle-free experience.

Eligibility:

This program is available exclusively to pensioners and low-income residents within the Fairfield Local Government Area.

Desexing and microchipping your cat not only supports their health and behaviour but also helps manage the stray population, with microchipping being a legal requirement under NSW law, as supported by Fairfield City Council.
