Let the Good Times Roll at Fairfield Spring Fest!
Published on 19 September 2022
Head down to Harris and William streets in Fairfield City Centre this weekend for two incredible days of good times and free-wheeling fun!
Fairfield Spring Fest is coming to town just in time for the school holidays – bringing roller skating, live music and roving performances, carnival rides, kid’s workshops, giveaways, and food trucks with it.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said the Fairfield Spring Fest, funded by the NSW Government’s CBDs Revitalisation Program, is the perfect event for families looking for something to do these school holidays.
“Council prides itself on hosting some of the best family-friendly events across western Sydney right here in our City, and Fairfield Spring Fest is no exception,” Mayor Carbone said.
“Harris and William streets will be transformed into a spring-time wonderland showcasing roller rink shows; craft and move workshops for kids including make and decorate a kite and dream catcher, hula hooping and hip hop dancing workshops; acrobats; African drumming and dance; magic shows; roving characters on stilts during the day, plus LED and fire shows at night.
“Parents are also in for a treat with a full stage program of homegrown talent and captivating performances PLUS Fairfield City’s first pop-up roller skating rink with live DJ disco beats!”
The roller skating rink will cater to all skill levels, with some sessions reserved for young children and beginners, and open sessions available to those who are ready to roll. Tickets for sessions including skate rental, are available through Council’s website now for a $2 booking fee. Pre-booking sessions is recommended to avoid the queues and guarantee your spot.
“Whether you’re wobbly on your skates, or an absolute pro we want to see your moves,” Mayor Carbone said.
“I’d like to thank the NSW Government for supporting this event and our local economy, and look forward to welcoming you to the Fairfield Spring Fest this weekend.”
Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade Alister Henskens said: “The NSW Government’s $50 million CBDs Revitalisation Program is reigniting social connection and economic activity in urban centres across Greater Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, through a range of arts, music, food and beverage and cultural events.”
Michael Rodrigues, 24-Hour Economy Commissioner said: “This activation brings Fairfield to life for families over the school holidays. It’s a perfect opportunity to really enjoy what Fairfield has to offer, whilst supporting local businesses and performers.”
