Illuminate New Year's Eve fireworks event NOT cancelled

Today it has been incorrectly reported in the media that Fairfield City Council’s Illuminate New Year’s Eve event has been cancelled.

Council is working with the NSW Health and the Mass Gathering Unit to put in a COVID-19 Safety Plan that will allow a modified, safe, ticketed, Fairfield City resident-only Illuminate New Year’s Eve event to go ahead.

A final decision on Illuminate will be made closer to the event and will be announced via Council’s website, social media and print channels.
